Today on Sounds Of Brass. 

The Valaisia Brass Band a Swiss brass ensemble that performs in the excellence category.

Founded in the spring of 2008 in Chermignon (Canton of Valais), The Valaisia Brass Band participates annually in the Swiss Brass Band Competition.

Since its founding, it has been crowned Swiss Champion eight times (2009, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2024), and Swiss Open Champion three times (2013, 2024, and 2025). In 2017, the Valaisia Brass Band won the 165th British Open Brass Band Championship in Birmingham, UK. In 2018, just a decade after its founding, the ensemble became European Brass Band Champion in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Annie Dehaney-Steven Presenter

Annie, lives in east London and plays in two north London bands; cornet for one and, latterly, sop (the Devil's cornet) for the other. Brass band was her first love, but she is as often found hanging around with jazz as a singer and event host.
